If you're like us, dogs hold a very dear and special place in your heart. Dogs are angels on earth and we are convinced that we will never deserve the gift that they are to us. Caroline Knapp said it best: "Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way." This we find to be true.
For this reason, 15% of the sale of every "Dog People" candle will go to Paw'd It Foward, a local animal search & rescue in SW Washington. They provide the priceless service of reuiniting lost pets with their families, shelter for lost or injured dogs, and tracking missing pets. We feel strongly about the mission that Paw'd It Foward serves and we want to help in any way we can! Click here to learn more!
We love the nose smudges on the windows, the toys left in the middle of the floor, the faithful pitter patter of paws behind us wherever we go throughout the house and the ever faithful chin that rests on your feet when you sit. We love that they seem to know how we are feeling even though we couldn't put it to words. We love that they are always infinitely happy to see us whether we've been gone from home for 10 minutes or 10 hours. We love the dedicated trust that our pups put in us and the unconditional love that we could never have earned.

Always trim wicks to 1/8 inch before lighting (we suggest using a wick trimmer) to prevent excess smoke/soot production. The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 3-4 hours to allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the container to prevent your candle from tunneling.
Follow the 2 foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable. Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax. Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans and any air currents. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep or if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container. A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains in the container.
Light, relax, enjoy.
